Another Rotary Run for Rwanda is done! This year was our fifth anniversary and the first time we had to face rain, wind and grey skies. Despite the weather, we were happy to welcome a large number of participants, maybe not as many as in the previous four years but a substantial turnout. We were particularly happy to see nearly 50 nines-and-under and also quite a few teens in the adult group. Thanks to our sponsors, we had lots of goodies to offer our runners and walkers and some great prizes as well. Altogether we raised nearly $4000 for our girls in Rwanda, and in addition received a number of donations from our supporters. As the run is our major fundraiser for the year, we are very grateful to all who helped us out.

Many thanks to North Shore Athletics for bibs and prizes; to Paragon Financial, Frits de Vries Architects, Bowen Island Properties, Chuck Venhuizen, Chilliwack Ford, Barbara Wahler Interior Designer, Gloria Chao and The Gym on Bowen for their financial donations; also to Ruddy Potato, McTaggart Water, Artisan Eats, Savary Island Pie Co. and Artisan Office Services, Union Steamship Co., Bowfest, the Undercurrent and The Snug for their contributions. We are also grateful for all our volunteers without whom the run would never take place.
